Our aim for our final project was to restrict the wearer making it awkward to walk and sit. As we started to design it, we were thinking about what parts of the body would be best to restrict. We agreed on this cardboard structure that would surround the waste and knees. We did make some mistakes along the way having to create a lot of replacement knee pieces as it was hard to create that tight look without ripping the cardboard. To resolve this, we started putting cardboard structure on the bottom of the panels. Once we had laced it up, we realized that the body sculpture looks like a music instrument making it very beautiful, but it also could be seen as a cage, fitting in with the restriction theme.

I really enjoyed the freedom, 3D elements and fun of sculpture and it will definitely be one of my specialist options.
